I had just the mojo-kicking day I needed last Saturday, a fab scrappy day out with new scrappy friends – huge thanks to Annette for taking me and introducing me to some lovely people!
I only managed 2.5 pages, not exactly churning them out, LOL, but I loved doing them. I took Ronda’s book with me for inspiration, just perfect. A fabulous book, well laid out and great step-by-step instructions for a multitude of techniques and ideas:

Go on, treat yourself, you know you want to
. (And no, I’m not on commission, just so pleased for my friend and her success.)
So, I decided to lift a page from the book, and scrapped my 40th birthday, using the gorgeous Cocoa Daisy March kit.
As the journalling says, I couldn’t have asked for a better birthday weekend, I was spoilt rotten and enjoyed every minute. I love my happy little family in this photo!
And the cake, well somehow mum managed to squeeze 40 candles on – yes, 40 – and the heat was immense, hee hee. And no, I didn’t manage to blow them all out in one go
.
I also decided it was high time I scrapped about my other craft obsession of crochet. I think this was the January kit, I added some bits and bobs from stash, and most importantly some of my own crochet – the flower at top left was one of the first things I made when I taught myself last year, it had to go on the page!
All these granny squares are destined to become a blanket, but I admit I haven’t done much to it lately. TThere are 60 squares at the moment, I’m not sure yet how many I’ll want in total but I think I need at least 40 more. Not enough hours in the day!
I was inspired by Ronda again, this time using her technique of journalling in a square. Tricky to read, sorry! But it tells of how mum gave me some crochet yarn and hooks ages ago, they gathered dust for a while but once I finally got round to giving it a try, I was instantly addicted. It’s a very satisfying hobby with reasonably quick results.
And the 0.5 of a page? Still a WIP, of course
. Must get onto that…..
TFL! xx
